Bonna-who?

by Gavin Jardine, Vice President Student Life

Well, I’m off to Manchester, Tennessee; a town of 10,000 people that for four days a year grows to 100,000. Since 2002, Manchester has hosted the renowned Bonnaroo music festival (or check out www.bonnaroo.com). This year, ten years later, I will be attending to bask in the glory of Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, Bon Iver, The Avett Brothers, Foster the People, Skrillex, The Roots, Black Star, and (almost) all of the legendary acts that still roam the Earth. The festival also boasts legendary comedians like Aziz Ansari and Steven Wright. With a mere 30 hour road trip ahead of me, I am rushing to check all of the items off of my ‘to-do’ list.

I’m anticipating some great exposure to new artists, and hopefully that will come back with me in my programming role at the Grawood for the fall and winter.

Although I’m dying of excitement, I am weary of how the four days will unfold. As their website suggests, Bonnaroo is: “closer to Survivorman than your favorite resort”.

All that silliness aside, I keep thinking of all the awesome artists I want to see at Dal this year… but the real question is: who do you want to see?!

Post your Dal music wishlist in the comments section of this blog!
